Goin' Rogue IPA is part of Muddy Creek's promise to you, our customers. When we first started this brewery, we wanted to make beers that were recognizable and enjoyable by a wide range of customers. But over time we wanted to begin branching out to more adventurous interesting beers. Goin' Rogue is one of those beers. We do have an adventurous spirit here and when we have an opportunity we do some things differently. Goin' Rogue is a single hop IPA featuring a relatively new hop from Idaho called experimental #7. #7 is noted for it's pungent tropical fruit and citrus flavors, (think apricot, orange, red grapefruit, and papaya) with big notes of resiny pine and hints of black tea. For Goin' Rogue we added just a touch of Orange Peel in the whirlpool to really accentuate the rich citrus notes in the final beer. We also beefed up a relatively traditional west coast grain bill by adding a touch of Munich to lend a little more malt backbone to the flavor.

The Story

So you're wondering "Why Goin' Rogue?" Muddy Creek loves giving you all those beers you enjoy. We love serving you Blue Sky and Muddy Creek and Storm the Door and Dirty Blonde. But we also want to begin providing you with some truly unique and unusual beers when the opportunity presents itself. We've made Goin Rogue as a single hop so you the customer can really get an opportunity to sample this hop and get a feel for what flavors and notes it presents in the beer as both a bittering and flavoring and aroma hop. Later, when we use #7 for other beers, you may be able to recognize it's characteristics and appreciate how it lends itself to different styles and blends. We truly want to start cultivating a real joy of craft brewing with you and generate discussion and stimulate excitement and learning from both you our customers and us as brewers as we introduce more and more unique and interesting products while we maintain our classic favorites. Do let us know what you think of Goin' Rogue and remember, the woods are lovely dark and deep, but we all have miles to go before we sleep.
